Why EnergyKey?

The EnergyKey program was designed to provide members of the Home Builders Association of Alabama with an option for building energy-efficient homes. As consumer demand for energy-efficient and green homes continues to grow, so does the potential for builders to meet this expanding market niche. Following are just a few of the benefits that the EnergyKey program offers to builders.

Simplicity

Compliance with the EnergyKey program is simple. The program spells out the particular requirements and guidelines for each level. Affordable training offered by the HBAA allows builders to participate whether they are large or small volume builders.

Cost Factor

The EnergyKey program is inexpensive compared to alternative programs in other states. Non-HBAA members will pay a premium if they wish to participate.

Flexibility

The three levels of the EnergyKey program allows builders to participate at the level that best suits the price point of the particular type of homes that they are building.

Marketing Tool

The EnergyKey program was developed as a result of increasing public demand for energy efficient homes. A fuel-neutral program, EnergyKey provides HBAA builder members with a valuable marketing tool. As consumers look for more ways to cut energy costs, the EnergyKey program gives builders the resources needed for building homes that are energy efficient and environmentally sound. Whether you build with electric or gas end uses, your home can utilize this program.

Ads and other collateral materials will promote the EnergyKey program. Members participating in the program will benefit from these advertisements and promotions.

Participating members will be able to use the EnergyKey logo in their own materials and advertisements.

ADECA, Southface, and the utility companies will be able to reference the EnergyKey program in their literature and advertisements.
